Description:

The Treasurer for the NSSRC Board of Directors will oversee the financial management of the organization, ensuring sound fiscal health and sustainability. The role involves budgeting, financial reporting, auditing, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies. This is a volunteer role for a two-year renewable term.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial management, budgeting, and reporting of the organization

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports

  • Monitor and advise on the financial health and sustainability of the organization

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and policies

  • Attend monthly Board meetings (online)

  • Depending on initiatives, the time commitment may increase to 20-30 hours per month

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in finance/treasury functions within the non-profit sector

  • Ties to the North Shore area (preferred)

  • Passion for helping stroke survivors and understanding of the organization's mission

  • Strong commitment to governance and strategic planning in a non-profit context

Additional Information:

  • Volunteer Role: This is an unpaid, volunteer position

  • Commitment: 10 hours per month (may increase depending on initiatives)
