Description:
Fidelity Canada, a trusted name in financial services and one of the most recognized employers in Canada, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Representative – Banking to join its team in Toronto. This role supports the Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC) division, the country’s leading independent clearing broker and custodian. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless and accurate delivery of banking services, maintaining operational efficiency, and providing top-tier client support to both internal and external stakeholders.
As part of Fidelity’s Dynamic Working Policy, this position offers a hybrid work model that blends in-office collaboration with remote flexibility, promoting both productivity and work-life balance.
Process and manage incoming and outgoing funds such as margin calls, collateral requirements, Type 4, and netting transactions.
Maintain and reconcile General Ledger (GL) and control accounts for Canadian, USD, and FX banking activities.
Perform bank reconciliations, investigate unmatched items, resolve discrepancies, and address Kyriba rejected transactions and stale-dated cheques.
Create and maintain wire templates to ensure accuracy of banking information.
Record and verify daily bank transactions, including EFT credits/debits, cheque deposits, and wire payments.
Work cross-functionally with Operations, Credit, Compliance, and Finance teams to manage EFTs, PACs, and wires.
Manage Kyriba GL/budget code mapping and monitor payment file transmissions to vendors and banks.
Conduct positive pay file uploads and perform payee match exception reviews.
Issue and manage cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers while maintaining banking documentation inventory.
Coordinate trade settlement instructions on Bloomberg to ensure accurate payment processing.
Respond promptly to audit inquiries, reconcile bank activity, and collaborate with auditors to confirm balances and adjustments.
Participate in projects aimed at process improvement and operational efficiency.
Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving issues quickly, maintaining professionalism, and fostering positive client relationships.
Demonstrate teamwork and accountability, collaborating effectively across departments to achieve organizational goals.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the financial services or banking sector.
Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience.
Certification such as CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or an accounting designation is an asset.
Knowledge of Bloomberg and treasury systems like Kyriba is advantageous.
Strong understanding of economic markets and financial operations.
Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage tight deadlines and perform accurately under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal departments, vendors, and clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with electronic payments and banking platforms.
