Backend Software Engineer

Description:

CrowdStrike, a global leader in cybersecurity, is seeking a Sr Backend Engineer for its Channel File Systems team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing backend systems that scale at a global level. You will work closely with Falcon Sensor teams across multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android) and contribute to proprietary Cloud Protocol development.

The ideal candidate is experienced with large-scale distributed systems, network protocols, performance optimization, open-source tools and libraries, and multi-tenant architecture. You will be expected to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment, ensuring high-quality software delivery that is unit tested, code reviewed, and continuously integrated.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and implement scalable backend systems for distributed architectures.

• Collaborate across teams to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex pipelines.

• Develop and maintain services supporting multi-platform Falcon Sensors.

• Ship high-quality software in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Apply engineering best practices, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture principles.

• Contribute to open-source projects and internal tools (bonus).

• Work in cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, support, and sales engineering.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Expertise in distributed systems, concurrency, multi-threading, and parallel processing.

• Solid understanding of cloud environments and scalable architecture.

• Strong problem-solving and design skills with attention to performance and reliability.

• Team-oriented with excellent collaboration and communication skills.

• Experience with Go, Scala, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch (bonus).

• Cybersecurity or intelligence industry experience (bonus).
