Av Design Engineer

Diversified, a global leader in audio visual and media innovation, is seeking an AV Design Engineer (Workplace – Virtual) to join its award-winning team. This role offers the opportunity to work on world-class AV and media projects for clients across industries such as media, sports, retail, corporate enterprises, and government agencies. As part of a collaborative and innovative environment, the Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering complex AV solutions that connect people and create impactful experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead complex AV engagements, directly collaborating with clients and project teams to design, budget, and manage expectations.

• Act as technical authority across the full project lifecycle from sales concept through construction drawings, implementation, and commissioning.

• Develop system designs, system requirements, Bills of Materials (BOM), block wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and other documentation.

• Provide technical expertise to support system architecture, installation, and integration with construction trades.

• Generate detailed design documentation including CAD markups, functional descriptions, and as-built packages.

• Research and recommend AV technologies, perform technical calculations (e.g., speaker coverage, UPS/power requirements, streaming bandwidth).

• Support projects in deployment, commissioning, and testing phases.

• Lead and mentor engineering resources while coordinating with operations, sales, and project management teams.

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, client requirements, and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/bachelor’s degree preferred.

• AVIXA CTS certification (mandatory).

• Certifications in DSP platforms (Biamp, QSC, Clearone, etc.) and control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX) strongly valued.

• Electro-acoustic modeling (EASE, SMAART) desirable.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office 365, and AV design tools.

• In-depth knowledge of AV systems design, TCP/IP networking, and construction processes.

• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines.
