Description:
The City of Edmonton is hiring an Automation and Program Support Specialist to play a vital role in advancing Waste Services’ operational training systems. This position will focus on supporting the transition to the Enterprise Commons Success Factors Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring that training processes, tools, and systems are streamlined, efficient, and future-ready.
The successful candidate will be responsible for data management, system configuration, process improvement, and developing end-user support materials. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and relationship management skills to support both technical implementation and cultural adoption of new systems across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the improvement, evaluation, and cleanup of training data for Waste Services.
Ensure Waste Services’ training data, tools, and systems are fully compatible with the Success Factors LMS.
Assist the Systems Training Specialist with troubleshooting and issue resolution during the transition.
Participate in system configuration and deployment of the Success Factors LMS as part of the project team.
Develop and maintain user manuals, training resources, and end-user support materials.
Assist in creating policies, procedures, and process documentation to support software adoption.
Collaborate with operational leaders and project teams to design evaluation tools measuring adoption, training effectiveness, and system usage.
Prepare and distribute system release notes, training documentation, and knowledge-sharing resources.
Provide guidance and assistance to staff as an application super-user and trainer.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Completion of an appropriate certification program from an approved business school/college.
Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the learning program area OR 5 years in automation and business process support.
Familiarity with Waste Services operational training practices.
Experience with Open Text (COE) Learning Management System administration.
Assets:
Experience as a Waste Services representative on Enterprise Commons projects.
Prior experience with LMS, SAP, SAP Ariba, or similar systems.
Internal training or local troubleshooting experience on business data programs.

Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing and presentation delivery.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and ability to present recommendations to leadership.

Work Environment:
Hybrid work arrangement (split between office and home) may be available.
Weekly hours of work: 40 hours (subject to review per union agreements).
Up to 1 temporary full-time position, lasting up to 11 months.
This role is covered under the collective agreement with Civic Service Union 52.
