Cavalluzzo LLP, a leading law firm committed to social justice, equity, and advocacy for working people, Indigenous rights, and equity-seeking groups across Canada, is hiring two Associate Lawyers with 2 to 5 years of post-call experience. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Toronto, Ontario.
Established in 1983, Cavalluzzo LLP is widely respected for its superior legal representation and progressive approach to complex legal issues. The firm serves a diverse clientele, including trade unions, non-unionized employees, Indigenous nations, professionals, and public/private sector organizations. Practice areas include labour, administrative, Charter, health, education, employment law, civil litigation, pensions, class actions, professional regulation, and more.
The selected candidates will play a critical role in upholding the firm’s mission by contributing to a wide range of legal services with a focus on advocacy, litigation, and regulatory law.
Aboriginal Law and Indigenous Rights
Labour Law
Civil Litigation (including employment law and class actions)
Professional Regulation
Additional areas of asset-level experience include:
Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) matters
Health care law
Education law
Construction labour union law
Public, administrative, and constitutional law
Provide expert legal counsel in one or more of the above areas
Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide oral and written advocacy
Represent clients in courts, tribunals, regulatory bodies, or negotiation settings
Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams and support broader firm goals
Manage sensitive, confidential information with discretion
Navigate complex case files while meeting deadlines and client expectations
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
2 to 5 years of relevant post-call legal experience
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Advanced legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
Professionalism, diligence, initiative, and client-oriented approach
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice
Fluency in French is strongly preferred
