Associate Lawyer

Our client is now seeking to add a talented mid-level Tax Associate. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to take a leadership role in the continued development of this practice area by marketing their services to both internal and external clients.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in continuing to learn under the guidance of an experienced senior tax partner in a sizable regional law firm with robust practices in Business Law, Trusts and Estates, Litigation, Real Estate and Family Law.

Qualifications and Attributes

• 3+ years experience practicing taxation law (including in the context of estate planning) with either a major or intermediate Canadian law firm or a law firm associated with one of the major accounting firms.
• Completion of In depth Tax Course or LLM in tax would be an asset
• Experience in advising individuals, private corporations and public corporations on income tax and GST issues.
• Strong analytical, matter management, research and writing skills.
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with exceptional communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
