Export Development Canada (EDC), a Crown corporation dedicated to helping Canadian businesses succeed internationally, is seeking a Directeur Relations Associées, Petites Entreprises – National to join its Business Strategy and Execution team. EDC provides innovative financial solutions and expert advice that enable Canadian companies to explore global markets, mitigate risks, and achieve sustainable growth.

As part of EDC’s mission to foster Canada’s international trade success, this position focuses on lead generation, client engagement, and business relationship development across multiple industries. Reporting to the National Director, the Associate Director will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and nurturing leads while supporting the small business team’s national strategy. This role is ideal for a motivated, service-oriented professional passionate about business growth, economic development, and relationship management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, qualify, and engage potential clients from diverse lead sources.

  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and business development teams to implement effective lead management strategies.

  • Conduct prospecting and outreach to potential clients, analyzing their operations, goals, and international trade opportunities.

  • Support the execution of EDC’s national small business development strategy.

  • Maintain accurate records of all prospect information in the CRM system.

  • Provide clear, concise internal and external communications.

  • Work both independently and collaboratively to meet lead generation targets.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, client relations, or account management.

  • Strong communication skills in both English and French (bilingual proficiency required).

  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in business development within economic development agencies, trade associations, or chambers of commerce.

  • Knowledge of international trade practices and global market dynamics.

  • Certification such as PACI (Professional Accredited in International Trade).


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual salary range: CAD 57,048 – 76,065, plus performance-based incentives.
