Associate Director

 

Description:

S&P Global Ratings is hiring an Associate Director for its Esoteric ABS Structured Finance Ratings team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the credit ratings process for securitizations backed by non-traditional assets, such as transportation ABS, private equity, triple NNN, data centers, time-share, and whole business securitizations. The position blends advanced analytics, client-facing responsibilities, project management, and leadership of rating committees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end ratings process for new issue and surveillance structured finance transactions.

  • Conduct detailed cash flow analysis, synthesize findings, and present results to internal rating committees.

  • Analyze collateral pool characteristics and assess credit/cash flow impact under various stress scenarios.

  • Review and provide feedback on legal/operating documents to ensure compliance with rating criteria.

  • Manage relationships with issuers, bankers, and investors.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ratings criteria, cash flow modeling, and structured finance methodologies.

  • Contribute to research, training, and outreach through commentaries, webinars, and podcasts.

  • Drive improvements in analytical tools and streamline internal processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related field (Master’s in Financial Engineering preferred).

  • At least 5 years’ structured finance ratings or related ABS experience.

  • Strong quantitative skills and experience with non-traditional asset classes.

  • Excellent problem-solving, research, and communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in cash flow modeling and advanced programming (Python, R, C++, MATLAB, VBA).

  • Strong Excel and financial modeling expertise.
