Description:

SS&C Technologies, a leading global financial services and healthcare technology company, is seeking an Associate Director, Fund Accounting to manage multiple client engagements and lead client service teams across various locations in Ontario. The company, headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut, operates in 35 countries with over 27,000 employees. This role focuses on overseeing fund accounting for alternative investment funds, with a particular emphasis on private markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising direct reports, delivering accurate financial products, managing client deliverables, and providing expert guidance on accounting processes including transaction documentation, capital activity, investment activity, income and expense accruals, management fee calculations, capital calls, distributions, and investor notices. The role also requires updating and reviewing carried interest (waterfall) models, ensuring compliance with applicable fund terms, and supporting corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client engagements and supervise service teams to ensure timely deliverables.

  • Review and oversee accounting processes including general ledgers, capital account statements, and management fees.

  • Provide training, guidance, and career development support to team members.

  • Collaborate with vice presidents and cross-functional teams to ensure quality and accuracy in reporting.

  • Drive operational improvements and support corporate initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in accounting with a focus on alternative investments funds.

  • Expertise in fund accounting, private markets, and investment characteristics (US and international).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills required).

  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
