Description:

SS&C Technologies, a leading global financial services and healthcare technology firm, is hiring for the role of Associate Director, Fund Accounting at its Kitchener, Ontario location, with hybrid working options also available in Mississauga and Toronto.

As an Associate Director, you will manage multiple client engagements and supervise various client service teams, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and with accuracy. The role requires deep expertise in accounting, particularly for alternative investment funds with a focus on Private Markets. You will be expected to demonstrate strong review capabilities in capital activity, investment activity, income and expense accruals, management fee calculations, distribution waterfalls, and investor reporting. Your ability to multitask, guide teams, and contribute to business goals is critical for success in this leadership role.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing multiple client engagements and supervising direct reports

  • Providing feedback and coaching to support team members' career development

  • Ensuring deliverables are accurate and timely in collaboration with VPs and peers

  • Reviewing documentation and supporting files for all fund transactions and valuations

  • Performing detailed reviews of general ledgers, capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations

  • Managing waterfall models in accordance with fund agreements

  • Training and mentoring team members

  • Supporting corporate and departmental goals


Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, specifically in fund accounting or alternative investments

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Deep understanding of U.S. and international investment characteristics

  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and work papers

  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking capabilities

  • Experience with mutual fund or investment accounting is a strong plus
