Assistant Store Manager

Description:

Vans is seeking a dedicated Assistant Store Manager for its Vaughan Mills location to provide leadership, direction, and support to the store team while executing the company’s vision and values under the guidance of the Store Manager. This role is pivotal in maximizing store profitability by achieving sales goals and maintaining high standards in merchandising, operations, staffing, and community engagement. In the Store Manager’s absence, the Assistant Store Manager will assume full store responsibility, fostering an inclusive environment that prioritizes both internal and external customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maximize store sales, monitor sales progress, and achieve sales targets.

• Inspire and model a consumer-centric mindset through genuine interactions with customers.

• Support the Store Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and attracting high-caliber talent.

• Provide coaching, feedback, and training to store associates, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Communicate expectations regarding customer engagement, store policies, and team performance.

• Assist in managing expenses to optimize sales and profitability.

• Ensure the store team has the knowledge and skills to meet sales and customer engagement goals.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional or retail management experience.

• Proven ability to drive results and meet business goals through store teams.

• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

• Strong coaching and motivational skills to lead a team towards sales and profit targets.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Solution-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

• Formal education or undergraduate/graduate degrees are a plus, but total experience and achievements are prioritized.
