Description:

Kids & Company, a leading childcare provider with over 150 locations across Canada and the USA, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director / ECE IT for their Vancouver center. The role supports the day-to-day operations of the childcare center while ensuring the highest quality care for children in alignment with Kids & Company’s mission: to provide convenient, reliable childcare that supports working parents’ work/life balance.

This position is ideal for a compassionate early childhood educator who is committed to excellence, demonstrates empathy, and can be empowered to lead and support both children and staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support children’s emotional, physical, and behavioral development, fostering social, cognitive, and physical skills.

  • Implement and maintain an Emergent Curriculum tailored to children’s needs.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and record keeping including attendance and health/safety checks.

  • Work collaboratively with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as needed.

  • Support children through transitions in and out of classrooms.

  • Ensure classroom ratios comply with CCEYA regulations.

  • Participate in and help lead staff meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions.

  • Assist the Centre Director with child and staff files and other regulatory or ministry requirements.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Registered BC ECE/IT License.

  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check.

  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.

  • Up-to-date immunization records and two-step TB test.

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 pounds.

  • Strong work ethic, empathy, trustworthiness, and commitment to child development and safety.
