Description:

Empire Vie is seeking a Risk Assessment File Coordinator to join its Individual Markets Risk Assessment team. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective and efficient management of information related to risk assessment and in providing strong support to clients, advisors, reinsurers, and colleagues.

The coordinator will act as the main point of contact for advisors regarding offers and communication issues, while escalating queries to underwriters as necessary. Responsibilities include data entry into internal administration systems, handling client and third-party communications regarding insurability evidence and risk assessment decisions, and providing administrative support to the Risk Assessment team.

The role involves managing proposals prior to issuance, ensuring system updates are accurate and timely, coordinating communications with advisors, and investigating service providers for cost-effective medical reports, examinations, and lab testing. The coordinator will also support departmental projects, such as system updates, surveys, and organizational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage information for risk assessment processes efficiently and accurately.

  • Serve as a contact for advisors, escalating to underwriters when necessary.

  • Communicate with reinsurers, clients, and third parties regarding evidence of insurability and risk assessment decisions.

  • Enter and update data in internal administrative systems.

  • Provide administrative support to the Risk Assessment team.

  • Prepare and distribute advisor communications, ensuring timely system updates.

  • Investigate and coordinate with providers to control costs for medical-related reports and tests.

  • Participate in organizational and service-related projects.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma.

  • Experience in individual insurance or financial services (asset).

  • Knowledge of medical terminology (asset).

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, databases, internet, and email systems.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening).

  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt to new technology.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
