Duties

Parks Canada is looking to staff multiple positions for the Aquatic Invasive Species programs in the Banff Field Unit. Aquatic invasive species are a threat to the environment and recreational activities. You will be responsible for permitting, education and compliance for the Aquatic Invasive Species prevention program through:
 

  • Conducting inspections on watercraft and gear;
  • Operating the self-certification program;
  • Educating visitors on Clean, Drain, Dry practices and aquatic invasive species prevention regulations in the mountain national parks;
  • Checking compliance with aquatic invasive species regulations at popular lakes and rivers;
  • Collecting, recording, and entering data;
  • Assisting with equipment inventories and maintenance logs;
  • Preparing, setting-up, calibrating, operating, and maintaining equipment; and,
  • Where time allows, participating in monitoring activities for aquatic invasive species.
