The Android OS Engineer will join the Infotainment team, which is dedicated to building an intuitive, seamless, and high-quality in-vehicle experience for customers. This role focuses on contributing to the core Android Automotive OS, including foundational components, system tuning, customization, and security. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge automotive technologies and collaborate with a world-class engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and customize core Android OS components, including frameworks and services within Android Automotive OS.

• Participate in software design and conduct code reviews.

• Implement and optimize Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs) for vehicle-specific hardware.

• Optimize Android system performance, including boot time, memory management, and system stability.

• Integrate new features, debug complex system-level issues, and ensure robust inter-ECU communication.

• Write and review performance-critical, foundational code across core OS components.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in Android app-level development and understanding of core Android concepts.

• Expertise in C (or C++) and Java (or Kotlin) programming.

• Understanding of core Linux concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing on-vehicle technology.

• Experience in Android platform development.

• Experience developing Linux drivers or extending the Linux kernel.

• Experience with performance profiling.
