Our radio product development team is looking for a data scientist who is results driven with demonstrated expertise in applied AI/ML. Selected candidate will help grow our applied AI community though project activity, innovation and education.
What you will do:
- Technical driver for AI projects within radio product development
- Use applied AI and help AI adoption for product and productivity benefits across our teams.
- Explore, leverage and implement Al solutions to solve difficult problems in radio product development
- Co-lead Innovation Garage projects in the AI area. Utilize "learn by doing" as a platform to build site AI competence
- Collaborate with site Talent Development team to strengthen University partnership/connection for students and professors
- Create strategy for planning ahead for future AI success
- Automate Al model pipeline for improved efficiency
- Identify gaps and provide working solutions
- Become part of the global Al framework
- Interfaces Systems, Software, Hardware, Tech Areas, Domain Teams
- Stay current on SOTA AI/ML architectures, technologies and solutions across natural language processing, computer vision and beyond
- Help create the needed AI compute and cloud infrastructure
- Build and grow technical competence in E2E applied AI applications and deployment (including secure cloud app deployment)
- Work closely with RPCA subject matter experts
- Become a recognized global expert in applied AI
- Innovation leadership for applied AI solutions

The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Applied AI/ML, Computer Science, Electrical/Telecom Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; telecom-focused research or projects are a plus.
- Domain curiosity and experience in telecom (e.g., 4G/5G, RAN/core, OSS/BSS, network analytics), with the ability to translate AI learnings across industries.
- Solid, hands-on understanding of SOTA AI/ML methods and when to apply them; practical experience with a subset (e.g., time-series forecasting, anomaly detection), with exposure to graph ML, RL, or generative models/LLMs as a plus.
- Proficient in Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow; experience with Git and basic testing; exposure to packaging and Docker; MLOps experience is a plus.
- Applied AI mindset: frames problems, chooses practical methods, prototypes fast, and partners to ship production-ready solutions with clear success metrics.
- Practical GPU experience for training and inference: performance profiling, distributed training, mixed precision; familiarity with CUDA/cuDNN/NCCL or similar is a plus.
- Clear communicator who can influence and align diverse stakeholders—equally comfortable debating baselines with engineers and storytelling impact with business leaders.
- Collaborative, big-picture thinker who connects data to deployment and models to measurable business outcomes.
- Innovation mindset: track SOTA, run experiments, prototype new solutions, and help move promising ideas into production.
