Description:
Monitoring electricity industry developments, tracking potential opportunities, and building relationships with key industry players to further grow the Enbridge franchise, with the support of the Power Business Development professionals
Build comprehensive financial models (regulated and non-regulated) specific to the energy industry, to assess potential opportunities and provide preliminary financial views of potential areas for growth
Develop presentations arising from analysis, including both the development and communication of key results to leadership
Under the direct supervision and mentorship of the various Technical Managers, Power Business Development, the Advisor will be responsible for the following activities:
Develop and maintain databases to track potential business opportunities across the electricity value chain (renewable generation, asset-level investments, etc.)
Maintain database of relevant industry events (such as M&A) for reference and assessment of potential opportunities
Building, reviewing and maintaining comprehensive financial models for new business development initiatives, including collecting, analyzing and synthesizing model inputs for inclusion
Develop thesis papers regarding potential new areas of growth in conjunction with the Corporate Development Office, as applicable, for presentation to senior leaders
Monitor and track relevant news, opportunities and issues impacting the broader Power sector in Canada and the United States and report on potential impacts to relevant projects being pursued
Who You Are:
University Business or Economics degree from a nationally recognized program or equivalent combination of experience and education
4 or more years of relevant experience in finance and business development roles (such as from Investment Banking, project finance, accounting / modelling consultancy)
Significant experience with financial modeling and analysis of regulated energy delivery businesses (gas and electric utilities), as well as power projects generally (wind, solar)
Understanding of regulatory concepts and North American regulatory regimes
Strong data management and research skills
Proven attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
