Accounts Payable Specialist

Description:

Gerdau North America is a leader in mini-mill steel production and recycling, serving customers throughout the US and Canada. The Whitby Steel Mill has been a part of the community for over 60 years.

This role involves managing Accounts Payable operations, leveraging the SAP-Ariba platform to streamline invoice processing. The specialist will focus on resolving payment discrepancies, building vendor relationships, and handling a high volume of transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:

• Receive, review, and prepare multi-currency invoices.

• Enter Accounts Payable transactions accurately and timely into the ERP system, including 3-way match processes.

• Ensure proper application of tax codes on invoices.

• Identify, log, and escalate exceptions for error resolution.

• Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

• Run and maintain standard reports related to Accounts Payable activities.

• Analyze and communicate root causes of exceptions to buyers.

• Participate in other projects as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of Accounts Payable experience with exposure to SAP and Ariba systems.

• Proficiency in Excel and Outlook.

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational skills.

• Dependable, flexible, able to work effectively in a team and fast-paced environment.
