As an Administrator – Accounts Payable, you will be a vital member of the Finance and Information Systems Department, reporting to the Operations Finance Manager. This role involves handling all aspects of accounts payable including invoice processing, payments, reconciliations, and communication with both internal and external stakeholders. The position operates on-site at the Sturgeon Refinery on a 9/80 work schedule, offering a balanced and structured work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices, post payments, and generate cheques/EFTs as required.

  • Administer corporate credit cards and purchasing card programs.

  • Conduct account reconciliations for VISA and accounts payable clearing accounts.

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management, warehouse receiving, and business units to resolve invoicing discrepancies.

  • Process employee expense reports in compliance with NWR policies.

  • Manage ad-hoc payment and vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Assist with month-end accounts payable accruals.

  • Maintain organized and accurate records for auditing and reporting purposes.

  • Uphold NWR’s safety standards and core competencies in all activities.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support finance and operations functions.


Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Office Administration is an asset.

  • 2–4+ years of experience in accounts payable or administrative roles.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, Maximo, or Dynamics AX preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) with strong data entry and accuracy skills.

  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking ability.

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.

  • Effective team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed to meet business demands.
