Boszko & Verity Inc., a construction company known for its emphasis on design integrity and customer satisfaction, is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator to join their team in a full-time hybrid role based in Toronto, ON. The company combines construction management expertise with design sensitivity to deliver projects that meet both client goals and creative visions with efficiency.

The Accounting Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day financial operations, supporting subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and documentation. This position is best suited for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and have a strong command of accounting practices, particularly within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounts payable processing and remittance advice distribution.

  • Handle inquiries from subcontractors and suppliers regarding payments.

  • Accurately enter invoices into Vista by Viewpoint accounting software.

  • Distribute remittance advice for weekly payments.

  • Verify new vendor details and conduct annual EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) reviews.

  • Manage and update WSIB certificates and subcontractor compliance documentation.

  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements (Visa, Home Depot, etc.).

  • Process out-of-pocket reimbursements and employee expense claims.

  • Set up supplier accounts and monitor monthly account statements.

  • Post accounts receivable payments and support job billing activities with Project Accountants.

  • Assist Principals and Project Managers with project-related financial documentation.

  • Help with office administrative duties, including setting up Health & Safety boards for new job sites.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles.

  • A university or college degree in accounting or a related discipline.

  • Proficiency in accounting software; Vista by Viewpoint experience is an asset.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information and work independently.

  • Prior experience in the construction industry is considered a strong asset.
