Accounting Clerk

 

Description:

Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support the Finance Department. This role will assist with accounts payable, invoice processing, financial reconciliation, and administrative duties, contributing to the organization's mission of supporting students in underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Process invoices for payments, ensuring compliance with financial policies
Verify, classify, and record accounts payable data accurately
Work with the Food and Logistics team to review a high volume of invoices
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and monitor vendor accounts
Resolve invoice discrepancies by corresponding with vendors
Assist with month-end closing activities and provide audit documentation
Maintain accurate and organized financial records
Perform administrative duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements:

📌 Minimum 2+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role
📌 Post-secondary education in accounting (preferred)
📌 Strong understanding of accounting principles
📌 Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software
📌 Hands-on experience with financial reports and spreadsheets
📌 High attention to detail and accuracy
📌 Strong organizational and time-management skills
📌 Effective verbal and written communication skills
📌 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
📌 High level of integrity and confidentiality

Work Schedule & Conditions:

Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Hybrid work model (Tuesdays & Wednesdays in-office)
Office location: 30 St. Patrick Street, Toronto
3 weeks' vacation + benefits
