EastGen, a farmer-owned industry leader in genetic innovation, advanced reproductive solutions, and technology for the dairy and beef industry, is seeking a skilled Accountant to join its finance team. The selected candidate will play a key role in financial analysis, reporting, and process improvements, working closely with the Accounting Manager. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with three days per week at EastGen’s head office in Guelph, ON.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle accounting duties, including month-end close and recording journal entries.

• Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.

• Maintain, monitor, and reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts.

• Prepare financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).

• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules, inventory accounts, and prepaid schedules.

• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on financial performance.

• Assist with budget preparation, management reporting, and annual external audit.

• Prepare and file commodity tax returns.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting.

• Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.

• CPA designation (completed or in progress) is an asset.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Microsoft AX) ERP is an asset.

• Experience in a small business setting is a plus.
