Description:
OpenText is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Developer to join the Quality Engineering team for the OpenText Cloud Platform (OCP), a next-gen multi-tenant SaaS platform. The role focuses on ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across distributed, cloud-native applications. The Senior QA Developer will drive testing strategy, lead automation initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Design and execute test strategies for distributed, cloud-native systems
Perform functional, regression, API, UI, performance, and security testing
Build, maintain, and expand automated test frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, and Cucumber
Lead performance/load testing using JMeter
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or similar)
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and product teams
Participate in Agile processes: sprint planning, estimation, continuous improvement
Troubleshoot and analyze issues in complex distributed systems
Contribute to quality strategy and process enhancements
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Strong QA/Quality Engineering experience (cloud or SaaS preferred)
Expertise in API/UI testing & microservices validation
Hands-on automation experience: Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber
Performance testing experience (JMeter)
Knowledge of security testing practices
Proficiency with GitLab or similar DevOps tools
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Excellent communication skills and experience working with distributed teams
Familiarity with Agile, TDD, and CI/CD practices
Passion for software quality and modern testing practices
Strong critical thinking around system behaviour and edge cases
Collaborative, with strong communication and team skills
Fast learner who thrives in Agile and fast-paced environments
Driven, quality-focused, and detail-oriented
Comfortable mentoring team members and promoting best practices
Ability to work hybrid (onsite in Richmond Hill office)
