Description:
Our client, a respected leader in the Canadian food ingredient sector, is seeking a seasoned Account Manager with a strong background in food service—particularly in ingredients and/or IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) products—to join their growing team in Mississauga. This role will be key in managing and expanding a portfolio of food industry clients, with a specific focus on ingredient solutions and product development support for food service operators, processors, and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying and securing new clients, especially within the food industry.
- Act as a consultative partner to clients, particularly R&D teams—offering deep technical insight on ingredient functionality and frozen IQF solutions.
- Present and promote the company’s diverse product lines, with a strong emphasis on value-added ingredients and frozen components.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to nurture long-term client relationships and drive sustained sales growth.
- Lead innovation and sampling projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and production capabilities.
- Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, including chefs, R&D managers, and purchasing teams.
- Stay abreast of market trends in food service, frozen ingredients, and culinary innovation, sharing key insights with internal teams.
- Keep accurate sales reports and client records using internal systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Food Science or Culinary Innovation considered a strong asset.
- 3-5+ years of B2B sales experience in food service, specifically involving ingredients or frozen IQF products.
- Strong technical understanding of food ingredients and their applications in commercial kitchen or processing environments.
- Proven success in both account management and new business development within the food sector.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep understanding of ingredient functionality and frozen product handling.
- Ability to communicate technical product information clearly to culinary and R&D professionals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with sample coordination and technical documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CRM familiarity a plus.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Availability to participate in out-of-town trade shows as needed.
- Commitment to BRC corporate standards and food safety regulations.
